He was really nice, and had his ear lobe tattooed (and I wanted to ask about it but was too scared!) After introducing ourselves (I completely forgot his 名前)”はじめまして”は私を言いました。"

While my father fixed the sink in 男の人のトイレ、the man complimented my hair and we went on to talk about his career. It turns out that he's lived in ニユーヨーク for 三ヶ月。 He has styled the hair for Beyonce and other アメリカ人 musical artists. I felt REALLY flattered after he complimented my hair, and a little shaky!

At the park, the whole family got together with different colored balloons. The 白い balloons were for all of my mother's grandchildren (十五白いballoons) and all of her children and my sister's husbands and my brother's wife had みどりballoons.

the balloons all together

When the sun went down and we all finished eating and celebrating, we went to a small field and let the balloons go off into the sky. Even though it was the first birthday we've had without our 母、it was beautiful and it was like she was there with us.

I really want to learn 日本語、specifically, the written language. To me, the Asian languages seem to be an almost artistic craft. I find it とっても難しいですto learn as an adult アメリカ人 and can't imagine learning this if I were a child. I think it's really interesting how Asian cultures were able to (and still are) able to adapt to such complex characters and alphabets (like ひらがなとかたかな in 日本語).

I hope to one day, very soon, travel to 日本 to learn more about the culture and to better both my reading and speaking skills. Maybe I'll fall in love with Japan so much that I'll live over there! Who knows?
